Aging is typically perceived as a determined factor, that you have little or no control over. Some of us think that our genetics play a big role, that we’re damned if we have a family history of disease or we have a clean family history so we are bulletproof. We subsequently take a reactive approach when there is sign of disease.
We have the ability to rewind the clock (look plus feel younger), most notably to reach optimal performance in training, racing…….everyday life.
Our Emotional, Nutritional and Biochemical Health is a gift that we have total control over. EVEN better we get to feel the results on a daily basis. To elaborate, our kids, grandkids, great grandkids, and furry friends get to experience the results too – in the present day and throughout generational DNA to a certain extent. WOW!
How can we flick the switch, and turn back the clock to reach optimal performance in everyday life?
How can we shed those excess kilos (which is simply inflammation and toxin build up) and set new personal bests on and off the race course?
The answer is simple. We can decrease the two physical processes that drive our aging process, that are also closely associated with decreased energy production and performance
- Oxidation – Oxidative damage is caused by things called Free Radicals. Free Radicals destroy cells and tissues, causing them to age, form scar tissue and die. i.e Wrinkles are formed through free radicals as they dry out our moist collagen fibers.
- Inflammation – Is our immune system’s response to any problematic substance that has entered our body. They can enter through ingestion, breathing, or absorption. (Weaver, 2015)
Real whole Food, Cellular Nutritional Supplementation, Hydration, Posture, Movement, Sleep, and a healthy Digestion and Detox system are our allies if we choose to utilize them in combatting the Aging Process – Oxidation and Inflammation.
Even better using them does not have to be a chore, it can be tasty, fun, social, empowering and often surprising!
Being honest with yourself is often the hardest step. Developing a self-awareness and mindfulness is the next step. What do I mean by this? Learning to listen to your body, acknowledging what it is trying to tell you so you can show it some love and live optimal health and fitness daily. Bui
An eating regime high in whole foods that contain anti inflammatory Fats, Proteins, Carbohydrates, nutritional supplementation where needed, and Aerobic Conditioning (movement and exercise that you find fun) are the magic pills to beautiful Adrenal, Thyroid and Hormonal Health, not to mention Liver, Kidney and Gut Health that will see you look and feel younger than you have in years.
