Cereal for some of us is a habitual morning routine. Our crunchy granola is a tasty nourishing alternative to the supermarkets sugar packed options. Full of anti inflammatory goodness. We love to add yoghurt and berries to it. For a winter warmer pour a hot cacao into the mix…..cocoa pops (but not)….only crunchy kinda vibe.
We will often add handfuls to a snap lock bag to consume during longer training sessions tooðŸƒðŸ½â€â™‚ï¸ðŸš´ðŸ½â€â™€ï¸
INGREDIENTSÂ
1 cup Shredded Coconut
1 cup Pepitas (pumpkin seeds)
1 cup Sunflower Seeds
1 cup Sesame Seeds
1 cup Almonds, slivered
1 tbs Coconut Oil, in liquid form
SPICES
1 tbs Cinnamon, ground
1 tbs Nutmeg, ground
1/2 Sea Salt (celtic, himalayan)
1 tbs Cacao Powder
1 tbs Lemon Zest
Optional:Â
1 tbs Fresh Ginger, finely sliced
1 tbs Cacao Nibs
METHOD
- Line a large baking tray and preheat oven to 180 degrees.
- Mix all ingredients together in a large mixing bowl. *We use our hands to really massage the oil and spices into the nuts and seeds.
- Place all ingredients onto a baking tray and cook until slightly brown. 10-20 degrees.
Serving Suggestion
Add a handful to puddings, smoothies, curries. Serve with your choice of mylk i.e coconut milk, coconut water, pouring cream, full cream milk, nut milk, Â etc.
Store in glass containers away from the sun, best to eat within a week or store in the fridge for longer.
